Mentoring and Training
My teaching effectiveness
has been enhanced by my involvement with students at various levels in their
academic training, including first year undergraduates, upper division
undergraduates, graduate students and local people in my research site in Africa. I have taught a number of secondary students in
Kenya
to collect and compile data, use computers, drive, administer a database and
budget, and conduct simple data analysis. These local students currently
manage the daily operations and data collection of the elephant monitoring
project that I direct. Recently, I have
started to advise Master’s level students.
