An opportunity for entrepeneurs

The plan we are working on involves a lodge that would enable tourists to see ancient temples in a much more remote setting, away from the chaos and frustration in Cairo or Luxor. The exclusive high-end segment is a fascinating one to analyze, and we have been reading through Hip Hotels to see potential competition around the world. Needless to say we would happily visit any of these hotels for "research"!

The mountain of data in front of us is growing

Now we are in Siwa oasis on our first mini-project. This is one of the five ancient oasis, and it comes out of nowhere in the desert. (Alexander the Great traveled here to consult with an Oracle). We spent approximately 10 hours cramped in a little Hyundai to arrive, and we happily piled out of the car and into the rustic old Shali lodge. We are working for the owner of Shali lodge, and a company called EQI. He is looking to expand beyond its current plans and we will spend several days working with his team to create new concepts and ideas.

On the Nile

On the evening of the 28th we departed from Cairo, off to look at potential sites for the proposed lodge in our business plan.
