Junk Food Addiction

I never used to have such a bad addiction to junk food. I think it all started in college. For most people, once they get to college, they're free from parental control...which can be good and bad. No one nagging you about cleaning your room...no one reminding you not to overdo it on the cereal...

For some odd reason, many college students are addicted to cereal, but why? Is it because of the sugars or the munchiness and convenience of this "breakfast" food? I don't eat cereal for breakfast anymore; I eat it all the time. There were days at Berkeley where I would go through

a whole bag of Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds. The cereal gets kind of sickeningly sweet after a while, but I just keep going back to it! I'm home in SoCal for summer vacation now, but I've brought my cereal addiction back with me. I still keep pigging out on cereal, chips, granola bars, popcorn...up to the point where all I can do is sit on the sofa and go, "Ughhhh...I'm soooo full!!!!" Then morning comes, and I go through the same cycle, again.

I usually eat junk food to alleviate my boredom and when I watch tv. I just can't watch tv and not munch on something. I want to constantly chew on something, but gum doesn't always do the trick.

Anyways, enough with my odd ramblings. I've created a resolution: not to eat any junk food for...as long as possible. I'm not really sure how long this resolution is going to last, but I'll try. I should probably stop watching so much tv since I do most of my junk food eating while watching that awesome contraption. Maybe I should go with the rewards system on this...if I refrain from eating junk food for the entire day, then I can watch half an hour of tv at night...late at night so I don't go and get the bag of chips to accompany the tv session. Anyways, I'll let you guys know how that goes. If my friends read this entry, they're going to laugh their heads off. They don't think I have much self control when it comes to snacks, but I'll show them!
