So if you've been reading my posts, you'll know that I've been volunteering at a Neuroscience Lab. I did that for about five weeks, but the last week before I went back to Berkeley, my family and I went camping in Lake Tahoe.
Lake Tahoe is about three hours northeast of Berkeley. It's on the border between California and Nevada. It was really awesome up there! This camping trip totally made me feel satisfied about my summer. It was just really relaxing and it felt nice just spending time with my family.
We went hiking once to Emerald Bay. The lake is called 'Emerald Bay' because of the color of its waters. We went fishing on the lake, but didn't catch anything. The water was freezing! I tried going swimming, but just ended up lying on a wooden platform to warm myself.
We also went down to this one stream in Camp Richardson, which is another camping ground in Lake Tahoe:
There's also an amazing ice cream parlor at Camp Richardson. I had about a pint of ice cream on my cone because the guy insisted on giving me more ice cream because the ice cream was hard and I might lose some.
I must say, however, my favorite part of the camping trip was roasting s'mores!!! It's completely different from microwave s'mores. I like my marshmallows burnt to the point where I have to blow out the fire on my marshmallow. The marshmallow gets a crisp exterior that doesn't taste burnt at all. It's extremely delicious!
Anyways, I hope everyone's ready to start school!
