**********************************

The Undergraduate Minor in Education, at the University of California, Berkeley, enrolls a diverse student body and is suitable for students who are considering a career in education or teaching, as well as those seeking a more general background about educational topics for other fields of study, or as concerned citizens.

Students from all backgrounds engage in study and dialogue about current and traditional educational issues and alternative perspectives on education, teaching and learning in a society aspiring to be more equitable and democratic.

Education Minor courses include not only academic inquiry, but also field work which provides students with experience in their surrounding communities: in K-12 classrooms, higher education, and community based organizations, engaging in co-teaching, tutoring, mentoring, assisting with an environmental education course, or participating in a vast array of other educational activities.

Requirements: One core course (EDUC 190), 3 units of fieldwork in a Minor approved program, and three Minor approved electives. See website, listed below, or contact the Education Minor Advisor for details.
