BECOME A VOLUNTEER FOR THE 7th ANNUAL JUVENILE ARTHRITIS EDUCATION DAY!
This year the event is at the Oakland Zoo (9777 Golf Links Road, Oakland, CA 94605) on Saturday, April 5, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Volunteer hours would approximately be from 9:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
JA Day is a wonderful opportunity for parents of children who have arthritis to spend the day hearing from pediatric rheumatology specialists, asking questions they need answered and meeting other families.
It is also a great opportunity for their children to have a good time with other children who have arthritis - this is one of the only events outside of Camp Milagros that brings many of the children together.
We need volunteers for the following positions:
Greeter: Welcome families as they enter the facility and point them in the direction of the event.
Group Leaders: Supervise and participate in activities with children ages 7 and under, 8-13, and 14+.
Photographers: Take photos of parents, children, Talk with the Doc sessions, and the event as a whole.
Floaters: Be available for any tasks or jobs that may come up throughout the day.
*All volunteers receive free entrance to the zoo and lunch*
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for JA Family Education Day please contact Emma Dayrell-Stulen at 415-356-5488, 800-464-6240 ext.105, or edayrell@arthritis.org to request a volunteer application.
