UCLA School of Dentistry - New Requirements

The UCLA School of Dentistry is now only accepting the following Chemistry sequence from pre-dental applicants. Course numbers correspond to courses offered at UC Berkeley.

- Two semesters of general chemistry (1A-1B, eight units OR 4A-4B, eight units)

- One semester of organic chemistry (3A-3AL, five units)

Volunteers Needed for Hispanic Youth Symposium

Hispanic Youth Symposium Needs Volunteers!

Organized by the Hispanic College Fund and supported by several corporate sponsors, the 4-day, 3-night symposium is for rising sophomores and juniors in high school.

During the event, students will be exposed to college prep information, careers, mentors, leadership workshops, and more!

UC Berkeley students are needed to volunteer for this event, which is scheduled for late June 2008! Contact Aikane.E.Lewis@kp.org if you would like to help out.

Where: University of California, Berkeley Barrows Hall

When: April 19, 2007 9:00 am- 5:00 pm

Who: This conference is designed for anyone interested in or pursuing a pharmacy career. High school students, college students, college graduates are welcome!


The goals of the symposium are to inform students on the application process for pharmacy school, present a broad spectrum of possible pharmacy careers, and instill anticipation for the future of pharmacy.


Highlights of the Symposium:

a. Pharmacy speakers from ambulatory, retail, nuclear, academic, clinical, compound and more!

b. Key note speaker: Dr. Joseph Guglielmo, Chair of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy

c. Workshop on "Pharmacy Policy & Legislation”

d. Pharmacy Student Panel includes students from UCSF, USC, UOP, and Touro.

e. Pharmacy Schools with info sessions and tabling at our luncheon

f. And of course, a great opportunity to network!
