The LBL is looking for a lab assisstant to help study carbon cycling in forest and grassland ecosystems. Take a look at the extended description if this sounds like something you'd be interested in.

Extended description:

Work at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory studying carbon cycling in forest and grassland ecosystems, focusing on soil.

Work will primarily consist of laboratory support to include duties such as cleaning and preparing glassware, weighing and grinding soil samples, preparing samples for C and N analysis, and general lab cleaning and organization.

Willing to run lab related supply errands, able to work independently and create own job task list without having daily input. Preferred time commitment of at least one year and ten hours a week.

Qualifications: Necessary qualifications include completion of basic science course work as well as an attention to detail and punctuality.

Ideally, the candidate will have coursework in organic chemistry, biochemistry, ecology, or earth sciences. Previous laboratory experience is highly desired. Experience with Excel is also highly desired.
