Do you dream about working on the global stage but find the prospect of planning an international career daunting? Would you like to travel around the globe in search of career opportunities without leaving home? Then Cal's 2009 International Career Symposium is the passport for you. Join the Career Center, the World Affairs Council of Northern California, and the International and Areas Studies Teaching Program on Oct. 27th and Oct. 28th for an exciting array of panels designed to give you a leg-up on careers without borders. Dozens of experts will be available to share their international career experiences, discuss ways for you to develop similar skills and expertise, and answer your questions.
Symposium sessions will include international internship and career-related topics about opportunities in diplomacy, the environmental field, global health, human rights, working with youth, international urban development, and more. In addition, over 20 top graduate programs in international affairs will participate in a fair on 10/28.
Kick-Off Event: Oct. 27, 2009, 7-8:30 pm, International House, Chevron Auditorium
Rick Steves, acclaimed travel writer and 2009 Citizen Diplomat of the Year will address "Promoting Global Peace and Understanding through Travel." Rick will highlight his seminal and widely-broadcasted trip to Iran, featured on PBS.
