I. Strawberry Creek Restoration Project (SCRP): Student Restoration Leaders Needed!
The Strawberry Creek Restoration Project (SCRP) is offering another Student Restoration Leadership program this Spring (it has been rescheduled to a later date from earlier in the semester, and there are still spots available)! Student Restoration Leaders (SRLs) will be given a thorough training on the history of Strawberry Creek restoration efforts, the native and invasive species of interest on campus, and the skills necessary to lead their own groups of volunteers on restoration events. Whether you have previously participated in Strawberry Creek restoration events or have no experience at all, this program will serve as a great way to become more involved in our efforts, and become a pro ivy-puller! (Since all of your work will be voluntary, this training also looks great on resumes!)

This program will take place over a Friday and Saturday, for a total of 5 hours of training.
Friday April 2nd, 3-5pm: Classroom Training/Participation in an Open-Pull Ivy Removal. Meet in 370 University Hall
Saturday April 3rd, 10am-1pm: Field Work/Natural History Training. Meet next to the statue of the Rugby players near the southwest corner of VLSB (along the walking path)

Please see the attached map for the exact locations of the trainings.

This two day program will be taught by Tim Pine and Karl Hans (EH&S staff members with extensive experience in restoration work along Strawberry Creek) as well as Tyler Grinberg and Lindsey Sanders (SCRP interns).

Attendance to both training days is mandatory to become a SRL. Enrollment is limited to 20 students, so act fast to make sure you get a spot! Please email us with additional questions or a request to participate in the program. Please include your name, major and year at Cal, previous involvement in the SCRP or other restoration programs. Your response need not be extensive, we just want to know a little about you! You will receive a confirmation email informing you if you have been enrolled in the course. Please email us at: strawberrycreek@lists.berkeley.edu.

III. Recycling Survey (chance to WIN a $20 and $10 JAMBA JUICE GIFT CARD)
The purpose of the survey is to expore student (Berkeley undergrad & grad) recycling behavior and opinion regarding UC Berkeley's public outdoor recycling bins. The survey has been CPHS approved, and does not require any personal information. The survey is intended for UC Berkeley students only, and takes about 5 minutes to complete. There is also a chance to WIN a $20 and $10 JAMBA JUICE GIFT CARD! Please take a few minutes to fill out the survey, it will be very helpful in the final analysis of my senior research thesis paper. Thank-you.

Survey open until March 31, 12AM.

IV. Studying for the GRE? Already taken it? Share your experience!
My name is Hetu Patel and I am a second year MBA candidate at Haas. I am reaching out to you to get some help from undergraduate students who are planning to take GRE exam. For a project, as part of my Market Research course, I am assisting a UC Berkeley student-run startup focused on the online standardized test prep market. In particular, the startup is looking to gather research on students who plan to or have already taken the GRE exam.

Would you please pass along this email to undergraduate students who might be thinking about taking GRE and announcing to them a series of focus groups we are running to ask students about their experience preparing for the GRE exam? I have attached the flyer with this email. We request interested students to email us indicating their interest at research@magoosh.com.

We really appreciate the participation of the students to help this Berkeley startup develop a better product for those preparing for GRE.

V. CACS Pilot Sustainability Survey– Let us know what you think!
The Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Sustainability (CACS) is seeking your input. Through this short pilot survey, CACS is hoping to gain a better understanding of faculty, staff, and student priorities around sustainability and what sustainability initiatives are most important.
Thanks in advance for your time - this survey should take less than five minute to complete and your responses will be anonymous. Based on your input and what we learn, CACS may do a broader sustainability survey in the near future.
