I. California Legislative Black Caucus Youth Leadership Scholarship Application

The California Legislative Black Caucus is pleased to launch the Youth Leadership Scholarship. They will provide $2,000 scholarships to eligible awardees for use in the Fall term of 2010 at four-year colleges and universities, two-year community colleges, or vocational/technical schools. This is a tremendous opportunity for California’s African American students during these difficult economic times.

II. Two Scholarships for Students Interested in the Pest Management Industry

Two scholarships are sponsored by the California Association of Pest Control Advisers (CAPCA) and Syngenta and are administered by the Stanley W. Strew Educational Fund, Inc for these scholarships. The CAPCA scholarship will provide $3,000 to a selected junior or senior college student and the Syngenta scholarship will provide $2,000 to a selected senior college student.

Scholarship Criteria:
-Grades/Academics 25%
-Extra-Curricular Activities 15%
-Pest Management Experience 20%
-Professional/ Career Goals 20%
-Financial Need 10%
-Class Standing (Senior/ Junior) *Bachelor's Degree Given Priority 10%

The nominees should submit a completed application form and copies of their transcripts. Applications must be postmarked by no later than May 14, 2010 and sumbitted with required letters of recommendation.The students selected will be notified the first week of July.
