I. Horace Albright Lecture & Panel Discussion in Conservation - April 27
The College is pleased to tell you that Chris Johns, Editor in Chief, National Geographic, will be visiting Berkeley on Tuesday, April 27th to give the spring Horace Albright Lecture in Conservation. The lecture will be held at 7 p.m. at the David Brower Center in the Richard and Rhoda Goldman Theatre. Chris’ talk is entitled “Water is Life” and will highlight many of the stories covered in the April 2010 issue of National Geographic which you may know is devoted to a single topic: fresh water. You are welcome to attend the public lecture.

For more information please go to the CNR website at http://nature.berkeley.edu/site/albright.php.

CNR and the J-School will also host a noon-time “pizza panel discussion” with Chris also on Tuesday, April 27th at the J-School at the North Gate Hall Library 121 North Gate Hall. Professor Michael Hanemann from our Department of ARE – an expert in water economics and policy -- along with Jennifer Kahn, the J-School’s top science journalist, will be in conversation with Chris on how to “Communicate Science to the Public.” This event is open to faculty and students of CNR and the J-School.
