I. Now Accepting Applications for the CACS Administrative Intern
The Chancellors' Advisory Committee on Sustainability (CACS) accepting applications for the Administrative Intern position. The Administrative Intern attends monthly CACS meetings and monthly CACS Executive Committee meetings and compiles minutes. The Intern is under the direct supervision of the CACS Co-Chairs, and additionally under the general direction of Facilities Services. Duties to be performed are critical to ensure the smooth operation of CACS throughout the year. A high level of organization and professionalism is expected at all times. We are currently considering Intern candidates for Summer 2010 and/or Fall 2010.

1. Consumer Product Development
Work with CEO on developing innovative, environmentally leading retail paper products. Experience with InDesign and other design and layout programs helpful. Products will be produced in partnership with social causes and other socially responsible businesses.

2. Sustainable Paper Manufacturing Research – Wholesale Product Development
Research sustainable paper manufacturing and contribute to New Leaf Paper’s development process for cutting edge environmentally responsible paper.

3. Business Development and Communications
New Leaf has enormous market growth potential – help leverage the company’s leading green brand position and existing relationships to drive sales. Work directly with CEO and with inside sales manager to reach out to existing contacts and friendly non-profit / student organizations and establish strategies to build business. Draft blog entries, articles, secure speaking engagements, and place earned media to build brand presence.

III. San Francisco Department of the Environment Seeking Clean Air Associate
The mission of the City and County of San Francisco Department of the Environment (SFEnvironment.org) is to improve, enhance, and preserve the environment, and to promote San Francisco's long-term environmental wellbeing.

The Associate will assist the Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Manager in performing professional level work.

Desirable Qualifications: Familiarity with San Francisco; experience with the City and County of San Francisco (as an organization); fluency in other languages used commonly in San Francisco; some knowledge of Transportation Demand Management (TDM) programs.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor degree in a related field from a recognized college or university; knowledge of environmental principles and issues; excellent public speaking and writing skills; possess a valid California driver's license.

Appointment Type: Permanent-Exempt appointee serves at the pleasure of the appointing officer and for a period of one year. An additional year might be possible if funding is available. The work schedule for this position could be modified to 37.50 hours per week.

• Respond to incoming calls and email inquiries from potential customers.
• You will use your product and industry knowledge to pre-qualify customers and set appointments for the Outside Sales team.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication, Marketing, or similar.
• Call center or inside sales support experience

Vice Chancellor Student Advisory Committee Recruiting Students

Outdoor Nation Youth Summit
On June 19 and 20, Outdoor Nation and Mobilize.org will convene 500 young people from all over the country in New York's Central Park for the Outdoor Nation Youth Summit. There, participants between the ages of 18 and 26 (14 if you are from NYC) will champion the outdoors as athletes, artists, advocates and ambassadors. They will set the agenda, lead the conversation, and develop action plans to encourage their peers to become stewards of the environment and to promote healthy lifestyles by engaging in outdoor activities. Outdoor Nation will be providing financial assistance to participants traveling to New York.

Held in the world’s media capital and country's most popular urban park, the Outdoor Nation Youth Summit will harness the passion, energy and ideas of a new generation eager to influence the future and to stand up for change. Summit delegates will not only craft and deliver a message of change to the country, but will strengthen the outdoor youth movement by infusing new ideas, skills and connections in a solution-driven environment. Our goal is to motivate and mobilize hundreds of thousands of young people nationwide to reclaim the outdoors for themselves and for future generations and we need your help to spread the word.
