I. Strawberry Creek Restoration Event
On Tuesday, September 7th, the Strawberry Creek Restoration Project is holding their first open restoration event of the fall semester.

If this is going to be your first restoration event, you'll have a great time. For this event we're removingsome invasive plant species in the Grinnell nature area on campus. Through this effort we'll be clearing up some land to plant native plant species.

The event will run from 3:00pm-5:00pm. Plan on meeting on the Southwest corner of VLSB by the rugby statue. You should wear closed toe shoes and bring some water.

II. Optometry Conference
We invite you to join 150 aspiring optometrists, distinguished faculty, and current optometry students at the 2010 UC Berkeley School of Optometry Fall Conference. This years conference will be held on Saturday, October 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

As a 2010 conference attendee, you will be the first to experience a pre-clinic simulation with current optometry students as well as an experienced faculty member! In addition, Foresight will be hosting a post-conference social at a local restaurant where you will be able to mingle with fellow attendees in a casual setting.

Drop in to meet with an experienced, trained Peer Advisor! You can meet with a Peer Advisor one-on-one in the Career Center's Information Lab on a first-come first-served basis. The Health Peer Advisors can help you with:
- Pre-Med class requirements
- Resources for finding volunteer experiences or internships
- Overview of health professional school application process & timeline
- Other pre-health professions questions and concerns

_*The Career Center is proud to offer a new, comprehensive online career assessment tool. FOCUS-2 is a self-paced, interactive career exploration resource designed to help students select a major, identify and explore career interests, and feel more prepared for their academic
and career planning. All currently registered students have FREE access to FOCUS-2, which includes 5 individual assessment tools that take just 10-15 minutes each. FOCUS-2 appears on the callisto desktop in the resources section.

* APPOINTMENTS*
The Career Center offers several types of appointments to help students with their career exploration, job and internship search, and graduate school planning. We offer both 45 minute, 30 minute, and 15 minute "Mini" appointments based on the student need and appointment type. We also offer drop-in appointments with Peer Advisors during the school year (which should resume in early September).
