URAP EXTENDED DEADLINE FOR SOME PROJECTS
The projects with an extended deadline are now available. The new deadline is Friday, Sept.10th, 3 PM. Remember to submit your hard copy applications directly to the faculty mentors' mailboxes! Work as a research assistant for a professor, and get course credit.
A great way to get your feet wet in the research process, and to get connected with Berkeley faculty members. Easy application!

Workshop A: How to Get Started in Undergraduate Research
This workshop covers how to find a mentor, how to choose your courses to get prepared for research, programs to apply for which can provide funding, guidance, and support, and other mysterious yet important elements of academic etiquette and
strategy.

Workshop B: How to write a research proposal
This workshop walks proposal-writers through the various requirements of proposal writing. It may be especially useful for those about to apply for McNair, Center for Race and Gender, Center for Comparative Right Wing Movements, International Studies Junior Scholars, UCDC or another program to fund student-initiated research, or those who are about to start a senior thesis. Please come with a topic in mind. These workshops will be given from September through mid-February, every year, so if you don't have a topic yet, it would be best to wait.
