I. UCSF/Kaiser Permanente Pre-Med Undergraduate Research Internship
Who is this program for?
Students should be sophomores, juniors or seniors in the fall of 2011 at UCB. You should be planning to attend medical school after graduation.

We are particularly interested in the following: diverse backgrounds, premed, UCB GPA above 3.0; 1st generation to go to college; no doctors in family or limited access to medical field mentoring. U.S. international students are not eligible to apply.

Dates and other information:
The research internships will be 9 weeks in length (June 1-July 29, 2011) and will be based with a faculty member in the departments of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, Medicine or Pediatrics with clinical shadowing at UCSF and Kaiser Oakland and weekly didactics. A stipend will be provided.

Requirements:
2 forms for a recommendation from a professor, GSA, program director, advisor or high school counselor. We also require a resume and a transcript. II. CACS Green Guide Intern
The intern will work to develop an interactive “green guide” for Campus staff and students to reference when implementing sustainable operations. The guide should be structured so that it is a living document which complements existing programs such as the Office of Sustainability Green Department Certification. The intern will be encouraged to incorporate social media and principles of promoting behavioral change. Please send a resume and cover letter to rander@berkeley.edu.
