I. Upcoming Research Workshops
Workshop B: How to write a research proposal
This workshop walks proposal-writers through the various requirements of proposal writing. It may be especially useful for those about to apply for Honors or SPUR (Student Initiated), McNair, Center for Race and Gender, Center for Comparative Right Wing Movements, International Studies Junior Scholars, UCDC or another program to fund student-initiated research, or those who are about to start a senior thesis. Please come with a topic in mind. These workshops will be given from September through mid-February, every year, so if you don't have a topic yet, it would be best to wait.

Fellowship Projects
For this fellowship, you must apply to a specific research project. The 2011 Research Opportunities provide detailed descriptions of available projects. Please review these prior to applying.

Eligibility
This program is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents from "health disparity" communities who are 3rd/4th/5th-year undergraduates or doctoral students at U.C. Berkeley. You must be enrolled in classes for the entire Spring 2011 semester in order to be eligible. If you are planning to graduate in Spring 2011, you are only eligible if you will be available to participate in certain on-campus research and training activities in Fall 2011. All applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher

Institute For International Studies Undergraduate Merit Scholarships
Old Deadline: 10/15/2010 New Extended Deadline:11/24/10
Up to $2000 to conduct international research. http://iis.berkeley.edu/. The Institute of International Studies at UC Berkeley is seeking to award a series of merit scholarships of up to $2000 each to support undergraduate research in any area on international studies. Submission: E-mail all required application components (as detailed above) as one .pdf document to iis.grants@berkeley.edu.
