I. Biomedical or Behavioral Sciences Research Programs
If you are interested in research in the biomedical or behavioral sciences and are planning to apply for Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. programs we encourage you to apply to the MARC Scholars (Minority Access to Research Careers - http://marc.berkeley.edu) or IMSD Scholars programs (Initiative for Maximizing Student Development -http://imsd.berkeley.edu). These two NIH funded programs integrate research, mentoring, academic, personal support and professional development for participants from underrepresented groups to enter and successfully complete Ph.D. and M.D./Ph.D. programs in the biomedical and behavioral sciences.


What we offer:
*Significant financial support for research over two years
*Long term, mentored research with Berkeley faculty
*Individualized mentoring and advising on graduate admissions
*Support to travel to conferences
*Professional development workshops and seminars

Eligibility:
*Currently enrolled 2nd or 3rd year in biological or behavioral sciences
*Strong intention to pursue Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D.
*US Citizen or permanent resident from an underrepresented group (underrepresented ethnic minorities, low-income, first generation college students, students with disabilities)
*Have prior research experience
* Able to commit to full 2 year program (i.e. no graduating seniors)

WE WILL BE HOLDING AN INFORMATIONAL SESSION THURSDAY Feb 24thth from 1-2 pm in 2063 VLSB.

Students may also attend our other information session on:
Wednesday, March 9th from 5-6pm in 2063 VLSB
