I. UC Leads - 2 Year Research Programs

UC Leads (Leadership Excellence through Advanced Degrees) is a two-year research program sponsored by the University of California. Participants will have the opportunity to conduct research at UCSF during their first summer as well as research during the academic year at their home institution. Their second summer of research will take place at a different UC campus. Scholars also participate in monthly meetings, the UC LEADS annual symposium, and are provided with a faculty mentor, and receive a stipend.

UC Leads is only for students at a UC Campus. All application materials must be submitted by February 21, 2011. II. Research Opportunity in Japan
In the summer of 2010, Graduate School has implemented a new internship program, named the University-of-Tokyo Internship Program (UTRIP) as part of our internationalization activities. This program is open to all eligible juniors and seniors of a four-year Bachelor program majoring in science and other relevant fields at universities outside of Japan. During the UTRIP period, selected twenty participants not only experienced real graduate-school life, but also met valuable and long lasting relationships with visiting peers from all over the world. III. Research Opportunities in Singapore

IV. Research Opportunities in Ecological Restoration
For the sixth consecutive year, the University of Oregon will be offering Biology 469: Ecological Restoration, a 2-week, 4-credit summer field course that teaches the science of restoration at field sites throughout Central Oregon. Students who have taken the course have enjoyed its outdoors, hands-on, practical nature, and many have progressed to internships, jobs, and academic programs with a restoration focus. The course has served students from about a dozen different universities, and it is open to students or recent graduates from any academic institution. Applications are now being accepted They will be reviewed on April 15, with decisions by April 22. (Late applications will be accepted only if the course is not full by April 22.)
