I. Just in Time Job Fair:
Date: April 20-21, 2011
Time: 12-4 pm
Location: MLK Student Union, Pauley Ballroom

Open to all UC Berkeley students and current members of the Career Center's Alumni Advantage program. Students should bring their UC Berkeley SID (photo ID for alumni) and copies of their resume!

More than 135 companies will be attending over the two-day event. Opportunities are available for ALL MAJORS in a variety of full-time, summer job and internship positions! This is the perfect opportunity for students to meet with representatives from organizations such as Goodreads, HP, JustAnswer, Lab126, Location Labs, Microsoft, NASA, Los Angeles Unified School District, Peace Corp, TIBCO, SAP, Symantec, TripAdvisor, Reading Partners, Target, Disney, Google, and many more!

II. Sustainability Summit
On Tuesday, April 19th, the Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Sustainability (CACS) will host UC Berkeley's Eighth Annual Sustainability Summit. The summit is an opportunity for the campus community to convene after a year's worth of work to share sustainability-related results, acknowledge achievements, and look ahead.

The event will take place from 9:30am to 1:30pm in the Pauley Ballroom, in the MLK Student Union. The event will begin with a poster session followed by short presentations on notable projects. The Chancellor will discuss current campus sustainability priorities and present the annual Sustainability Awards. Dr. Peter Gleick president and co-founder of the Pacific Institute and UC Berkeley Alum will provide the keynote address: "The Business of Water: Moving from a Commodity to a Human Right."

A vegetarian and sustainable lunch will be served. More information and the full schedule of Earth Week events are available at http://sustainability.berkeley.edu/cacs/summit. All staff, faculty, students, and campus affiliates are encouraged to participate in this event.


III. Greenaction Walkathon
Greenaction Walkathon, Sunday, May 1st, 10:30am at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. Join Greenaction on its First Annual Walkathon for Environmental Justice through Golden Gate Park!

Greenaction is a San Francisco-based nonprofit organization which works to address health and environmental justice issues within urban, rural, and Indigenous communities in the Bay Area, Kettleman City, and across the country. As an organization that speaks out and doesn't compromise or sell-out, Greenaction depends on friends and supporters to help raise the funds necessary to keep fighting polluters and their friends in government. There is no minimum donation, but participants who raise at least $50 or pay the $10 registration fee will receive a free t-shirt.
