I. TREES: Incorporating the Environment into Public Health Initiatives
Tree Pittsburgh is in process of creating a master plan for Pittsburgh’s urban forest—an initiative that will align the community around a shared vision for protecting, growing and maintaining our urban forest for future generations, creating substantial returns from a singular investment. Tree Pittsburgh will visit Berkley to describe how public health factors will be used as a means to prioritize and target reforestation efforts.

They will share research that demonstrates how the urban forest provides substantial human health benefits affecting air and water quality, noise pollution, and urban heat island effects. They will bring with them case studies from other cities that use public health factors as a planning tool and share their own “hot off the press” tree canopy data, an analysis conducted by the University of Vermont Spatial Analysis Lab.

Tree Pittsburgh is an environmental non- profit organization working to protect and restore Pittsburgh's tree population through community tree planting and stewardship, education, and advocacy. Learn more at www.treepittsburgh.org.

II. Course Evaluation Student Survey
Have you ever wondered how the course evaluations you fill out at the end of every semester are used to improve teaching and learning on campus? If you are a current UC Berkeley student, this is your chance to share your opinion on the subject!

UC Berkeley is currently considering moving to online course evaluations. An online system could have many potential benefits for students, but first we need your input to ensure the system meets student needs.
