Did you know? Offices in Mulford Hall has teamed up with the UC Berkeley Compost Alliance and Campus Recycling and Refuse Services to install a compost system in the building. 260 Mulford Hall has a compost bin just outside its doors. Other bins may be found throughout the building, primarily in restrooms.

What can be composted?
-All food scraps
-All paper towels
-Food-soiled paper (pizza boxes, paper plates, paper napkins, paper cups, etc)
-Green waste (flowers, etc)

CNR's Sponsored projects for Undergraduate Research
CNR students work with CNR faculty, postdocs, grad students during the summer, fall and spring semester To see open SPUR Faculty Projects go to

Deadline to Apply for Spring Faculty Projects, Monday, 1/23/12
Each semester Faculty post projects and students apply to participate. Descriptions of projects and required skills are posted at the beginning of each semester and in April for summer. Students are not paid, but during the semester, students receive 99/199 Independent Research Units.

Application requires a resume, unofficial transcript and statement/cover letter. Funding to support undergraduate research is generously provided by CNR alumni.

New and continuing CNR transfer students are invited to come to Mulford 260 on Tuesday, January 24, from 4-5pm to mingle, share experiences, and make new friends, all while enjoying a Coffee Break! To help us cut down on waste, please bring your own mug.

Jan. 27 | Enroll in your second semester H196
Student participating in honors research must enroll in their second semester of H196. Be sure to complete the proper form (which can be picked up in Mulford 260 or by emailing Susan Kishi at, obtain your faculty mentor's signature, and submit to your major advisor by Friday, 1/27. You do not need to resubmit your proposal, as we assume your research is going as planned. If there have been major changes, please contact Ms. Kishi. Your major advisor will provide you with your CCN to enroll in H196.

Please remember, you must attend one of the sessions below. If you are unable to attend either of our scheduled sessions, please contact Ms. Kishi to schedule a different time to meet at the beginning of the semester.
