Oct 31 | APCF - Verizon Scholarship Awards Program

The Asian Pacific Community Fund partners with Verizon to financially assist students in their pursuit of higher education as they face the challenge of significantly rising costs of obtaining a college degree. These awards will support those who excel academically, are leaders amongst their peers and are making a positive impact in their communities. Five $2000 Scholarship Awards are available.

Application deadline: October 31, 2012 at Midnight


-Students who are residents of California, Oregon or Washington OR students attending college in one of those states

-Plan to enroll as a 2nd year college student in a U.S. accredited 4-year college or university as a full-time, degree-seeking student majoring in math, engineering, or a technical science in the Fall of 2012

-Have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0

Selection Criteria - Awardees will be selected based on the following criteria:

1. Essay questions (2)
2. Grade Point Average (GPA)
3. Leadership
4. Community Involvement

Complete and submit all documents by midnight Nov. 4, 2012

This competition is a perfect chance for you to showcase your skills and get awarded with a full Master's scholarship to study in Sweden! Let's get this started!

Competition Task:
Now that you have signaled your intent to compete, please complete the following steps:

1) Go to the competition website
2) Register an account on the website
3) Start the Challenge

Competition in brief:
- Knowledge test on:
● Current International Affairs
● Swedish Society and Education System
● Political Science, Environmental Management and Policy, or Economics
- Essay Writing
- Personal Motivation


3 full tuition waivers for a Master's degree at one of the following Swedish universities:

The International Master’s Program in Political Science at Stockholm University
The Master’s Program in Environmental Management and Policy at Lund University
The Master’s Program in Economics at Uppsala University

Paid domestic travel and accommodation for finalists to attend the award ceremony.
