About the Position:

• Assist with research, design and coordination of Sustainable Brands conference content, supporting program development for flagship annual conferences in the United States and Western Europe, as well as the ground-breaking New Metrics of Sustainable Business series of events;

• Develop research reports and/or case studies to build up and/or update an internal knowledge base on a number of cutting-edge corporate sustainability topics;

• Assist with, and potentially lead, other special tasks and projects which may include white papers, our Sustainable Brands Fellows program, and/or new lines of business;

• Assist with other duties on behalf of the Director of Program Development or the Managing Editor, as needed;

• NOTE: This is an unpaid part-time internship, but the position includes a free ticket and travel expenses for our SB’13 conference, which will take place at the Paradise Point Resort & Spa in San Diego, CA on June 3rd – 6th, 2013. There is strong potential to move into a paid leadership position depending on individual performance and the overall growth of the business.

Jan 25 | Pathways Student Intern - Montana NRCS

Pathways Student Intern (Soil Conservationist Trainee), GS-0499-01/02/03/04/05 opens on December 17, 2012 and will close on January 25, 2013. We expect to fill approximately 12 positions at the following locations: Baker, Big Timber, Billings, Broadus, Chester, Forsyth, Hamilton, Jordan, Pablo, Plains, Ronan and Shelby. Pathways Program requirements for an internship with Montana NRCS:

1. Be a United States Citizen or National
2. Be at least 16 years old (by closing date of this vacancy announcement)
3. Have at least a 2.8 cumulative GPA; 3.0 or higher is preferred.
4. Must be enrolled in an accredited high school, college or university on at least a half-time basis as defined by the school.
5. For college or university applicants must be pursuing a degree in one of the academic majors or related fields listed above.
6. For college or university applicants must not be expected to graduate college prior to the fall of 2014.
7. Must be mobile to all locations throughout Montana upon initial placement and subsequent summers as well as upon graduation. High school students are placed at the nearest field office to their home.

Jan 26 | Program Coordinator - Building Sustainability at Cal

Building Sustainability at Cal (BS@C) is a student led campus sustainability group that was founded in 2007. The program trains and utilizes students to help reduce the environmental footprint of buildings by educating building inhabitants and identifying structural and operational changes that can be made to the building, in addition to designing and implementing educational projects. Building Sustainability at Cal is searching for a Program Coordinator for the 2013 academic year. This coordinator will work specifically with our Greening Operations (GO!) Team, one of the three branches of BS@C. The GO! Team is a group of 10‐15 students working on sustainability audits and educational projects on campus and the two GO! Team Program Coordinators train, organize, and lead this group of students.

Location: Clem Miller Environmental Education Center Point Reyes National Seashore, Marin County, California Approximately 90 minutes north of San Francisco

Salary: Starts at $90 per day; 9 week position; room & board provided.

Summer 2013 | Internship with the CDC NCEH/ATSDR

Application due date: January 30, 2013
Program dates: June 12 - August 16, 2013

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Environmental Health and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (NCEH/ATSDR) are offering a paid 10-week summer internship program for students who are passionate about the environment, interested in human health, and curious about how they are linked. During the course of the internship, students are introduced to environmental health at the federal level through collaborative projects, experiential learning opportunities, environmental health presentations, journal clubs, field trips, brown bag lunches, and mentoring relationships at NCEH/ATSDR.
Interns will be based at NCEH/ATSDR's Chamblee Campus and will be paid a stipend of approximately $600 a week during the course of the program.

Eligibility requirements:
1. US citizenship or Permanent Resident with a green card
2. Full time enrollment at a college or university as a rising junior or rising senior by fall 2013
3. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
