Apply Now | Community HealthCorps of Northern California - AmeriCorps

ARCH serves as the operating site for the Community HealthCorps of Northern California; Community HealthCorps is an AmeriCorps Program operated by the National Association of Community Health Centers in collaboration with the federally administered Corporation for National and Community Service.

Since 2001, ARCH has participated in an AmeriCorps program called the Community HealthCorps, in partnership with the federal Corporation for National and Community Service (CNS) and the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC). Each year, ARCH recruits 11 Community HealthCorps Members and places them in ARCH partner health clinics and other community partner organizations. Members serve full time for ten months, and receive a monthly stipend and health benefits. They expand health centers' capacity for case management, health education, outreach, and other needed direct services. Members are trained on a variety of health care topics, and gain first-hand exposure to career opportunities and work experience in the community health field.

Upon completion of their terms of service, members receive an educational award for future educational expenses or repayment of qualified student loans. The majority of our AmeriCorps members matriculate to a health professions school, and others are hired on by their placement site or another community health program.
