All My Favorites

I’m sure just about everyone will agree that watching great movies or television shows, listening to your favorite music or eating good food are all great ways to have some fun and relieve stress too. Not only are these activities fun but they are things you can enjoy with others. I really enjoy mixing things up and having a variety in my life, which is the case with all my favorites.

I like just about every kind of movie, with one exception, which is scary movies. Even though I enjoy watching them in the moment, I know the second I’m home alone I will regret it. I know I may seem a little old to be scared of scary movies, but I’m okay with that especially since there’s so many other kinds of movies out there to watch. For the most part I enjoy a light hearted movie which usually means a “chick flick.” Some of my favorites are The Notebook, Serendipity, Just Like Heaven, A League of Their Own and How to Lose a Guy in 10 days. I also really enjoy action/thrillers and I know I can never go wrong with a movie with Denzel Washington is in it (he is my favorite actor).

As for television shows, I have a few that I admit I am hooked on. First and foremost, I can’t miss a new episode of Grey’s Anatomy! Even though this show has lost a bit of its medical touch and has gotten to be more of a drama, I still love it. It is the perfect mix of medicine and “chick flick.” I also shamefully confess that my housemates and I designate Monday nights at 10pm to watch The Hills. We love to hate this show and it has become or Monday night routine which is something nice to look forward to after a long Monday.

Music is one of my passions. I don’t know what I would do in a world without music. I love music because no mater what I am doing or what kind of mood I am in it always seems to lift my spirits. I enjoy all sorts of music and am pretty much always listening to it, whether I’m at the gym, on a run, walking to class, studying or driving in my car, you can count on me listening to music. I listen to all genres so I could never pick a favorite, but right now I really enjoy listening to Angles & Airwaves.

Last, but definitely not least is my favorite food. I am a bit of a health nut, so any restaurant with a tasty salad full of mixed vegetables makes me happy, like intermezzos. I also really love ethnic food and am pleased with the variety we have in Berkeley. Thai House is always delicious and I also love the Sushi House (which is just outside of Berkeley). If you’re looking for Middle Eastern cuisine, I highly suggest The Holly Land (on College and Ashby); the food is always great there. It’s always exciting when I get the chance to eat out because it means I get to spend time with friends or family.
