Push to the Finish
With only 2 weeks or so left for instruction the end to this semester is in sight, and with the end of each semester also comes finals. Finals can be stressful mentally and physically so in addition to remembering to study remember to take care of yourself. Most classes offer review sessions, which can be very helpful in preparing for you tests, and be sure to visit your professor or GSI office hours with any questions before their normal office hours end. The most important thing, especially with cumulative finals, is to start early!
When you have a test that covers everything from the first day to the last cramming is not going to get you the grade you want. It's awfully tempting to keep pushing off studying, maybe even more so now that we have a full dead week to study, but if you start slowly and early you'll end up more prepared and probably less stressed! Getting started early can also allow you to ease in to finals studying. Arrange to have a study group meet next week, organize your class notes, dig up all your old quizzes, and take a little extra time to catch up on reading now before you have to get into ultra study mode.
Be sure to look up when and where your finals are. This is the first semester that final times have changed. There are now 4 final times each day: 8-11, 11:30-2:30, 3-6, and 7-10. Double check your final slot and get there at the right time, there is also less time between finals so be sure to take that into account if you happen to have 2 on the same day.
