Jacqueline received her Ph.D. from the Agricultural University of Wageningen (the Netherlands) in 1995. The title of her thesis was "Ectomycorrhizal Fungi of Scots Pine as affected by litter and humus". In 1996 Jacqueline was a post doc at the University of Wyoming in Laramie and studied the interactions between ectomycorrhizae and other soil organisms. In January of 1997, Jacqueline joined the Bruns lab and studied fire ecology at Point Reyes. Jacqueline returned to the Netherlands in December of 1998 and is now a post doc at the University of Nijmegen.
