CSRD hosts a November 13 Seminar by Brennan Van Dyke of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)

CSRD is pleased to announce a "brown bag" lunch seminar given by Brennan Van Dyke, Director of the Regional Office for North America of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).  The seminar will be held on Monday, November 13, from 12:30-1:30 pm in 103 Mulford Hall. 

Ms. Van Dyke will discuss United Nations worldwide initiatives designed to combat ozone layer depletion, ocean pollution and contamination from persistent organic pollutants, and to support biodiversity, endangered species and habitat preservation, and environmental capacities to meet the challenges of globalization.  All students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend the seminar.

Ms. Van Dyke is a UC Berkeley alumnae.  After completing an undergraduate degree in philosophy here, she studied law at Yale University.  She was recently appointed Director of the Regional Office for North America of the United Nations Environment Programme (RONA-UNEP).  Ms. Van Dyke is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at the American University's Washington College of Law, where she has taught International Environmental Law, Trade and Environment, and International Institutions for Environmental Protection.
