I’m broadly interested in understanding interactions between trees and their environment, and how drought and climate change affects forest ecosystems. To address these questions, I use methods and tools from the fields of plant physiology, forest ecology, stable isotope biogeochemistry, micrometeorology, and remote sensing.
My current research is focused on examining the effects of climate change on coast redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) and giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) trees in California as part of the Redwoods and Climate Change Initiative and through a collaborative project with scientists from Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, U.S. Geological Survey, and Carnegie Airborne Observatory at Stanford.
