Also known as Oregon Pine, Douglas Spruce, Yellow Fir and Red Fir. One of America's most important timber trees. Its natural range extends from British Columbia south through the coast regions, Sierra Nevadas and Rockies to Mexico, attaining its best development in B.C., Washington and Oregon. Maximum size 10' x 350', averages 3-4' x 180'. Wood is hard, strong and straignt-grained and seasons well. Used for piles, poles, props, masts, car construction, interior finish, tanks, pipes, etc. Unsurpassed for structural timber. It is also used for plywood and paper.
