EASTERN HEMLOCK

An important and abundant tree in the forests of the Northeastern and Lake States and extending south along the mountains into Georgia. Attains a size of 4' x 100'. The wood is light and soft, and difficult to season without twisting and checking. Used for common lumber purposes in housebuilding, crating, pulp, etc.
