What’s the connection between fat and chronic disease?

A diet high in total fat not necessarily any particular type has been linked with cancers of the colon, prostate and breast.

A high fat diet can lead to weight gain. Being overweight or obese increases your risk for diabetes.

Foods high in fat and cholesterol will increase cholesterol level in the blood. Over time, cholesterol and other substances will clog the arteries. It will be difficult to deliver oxygen to the cells. When the arteries to the heart are blocked, tissues of heart will die from lack of oxygen, and this will result in a heart attack.

A plant-based diet can reduce your risk of chronic diseases

To get enough protein and iron, we should eat plant based foods:

A variety of seeds and nuts such as almonds, peanuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, brown rice, sesame seeds

Cereal

A variety of beans such as soybeans and tofu, red beans, mung beans,
and black beans

Vegetables

These food products are low in fat, and abundant in vitamins and minerals
