The ESPM Environmental Genomics Laboratory (EGL) is a multiuser research and training facility. Participating faculty members use molecular approaches to investigate a plethora of biological phenomena including population genetics, molecular systematics, and molecular ecology. This 575 square foot laboratory is housed in 207 Hilgard Hall and contains molecular equipment that provides faculty and graduate student researchers access to the following techniques: DNA extraction, PCR amplification, gel visualization and documentation, preparation of samples for cycle sequencing and fragment analysis, and real-time PCR. Training in experimental design, techniques, and data analysis is offered on a periodic basis. Individual consultations are also available.
