Getting Started in the ES Major

Environmental Sciences Home | UC Berkeley

Congratulations on your admission to Environmental Sciences (ES) in the College of Natural Resources! There is a lot of information that ES students need to know. This portion of the ES website is designed just for incoming students to give them "the basics" for choosing and enrolling in fall classes.

Choosing classes for your first semester at Cal can be both exciting and daunting. Participating in the Cal Student Orientation Program (CalSO) during the summer will provide you with an opportunity to have over three hours of academic advising with the ES advisor. CalSO also gives students the opportunity to learn about many other aspects of the UC Berkeley experience. We strongly urge you to attend. Sign-up here.

If you are unable to attend CalSO, please read the special section of directions. Keep in mind that students who do not attend CalSO usually have to register for classes later than students who do go to CalSO.

Please use the links in the menus at right to directly access specific information. If this is your first time at the site, use the arrows at the bottom of each page to navigate through the website in the recommended order.
