The handsome fellow above
is a spider of the genus Argyrodes.
Many members of this genus are kleptoparasitic - they live in the webs of
other spiders and steal their food, eat their eggs and sometimes even consume
the silk from their webs.
I am a first year graduate student at the University of California,
Berkeley. I plan to study how Argyrodes
modify their behavior to take advantage of different hosts.
