California Forest Futures 2005 is now behind us. However, the partnerships, policies and planning necessary to sustain the health and breadth of our state’s forests – and make them more economically viable as productive forestlands for generations to come – must continue to be successfully established, enacted and executed.

The UC Center for Forestry and the Pacific Forest Trust will continue to explore strategic solutions that Stop Loss and Spur Progress. And, based on the overwhelming enthusiasm generated from the conference, it looks like we will have many allies in our efforts.

To all those who attended, we thank you for your participation and your passion. To those who could not attend (and for those who did but want review the proceedings), we hope you will find the conference abstracts and presentations posted here helpful as you move forward with your forest programs and projects.

Also, check back here this Fall as we are planning to publish a white paper summarizing the information and proposals presented during the conference. Copies and/or downloadable PDFs will be made available through this web site.

We hope these resources will be useful to you in your work and that you will share the information, insight and ideas you’ve gained here and at the conference with others you know who are concerned about the future of California's forests.
