The UC Forestry Summer Field Camp at Baker Forest provides Cal students with a unique opportunity to spend eight weeks in the Plumas National Forest learning about forestry and other resource management first hand. Campers learn about wildland ecology as well as forest, range and wildlife management, forest resource inventory, forest products and harvesting practices, and many other subjects. Students especially value getting to know faculty, living in a beautiful forest and the life-long friendships that are inevitably forged. The enthusiasm for the program can be seen by the great turnouts at the annual alumni weekend held the first weekend of camp.
