How to Declare a Major at CNR

Information for Freshmen

If you are a freshman, you are not required to be in a major program during your first two years in the College of Natural Resources. By the end of your fourth semester, however, you must declare a major in order to remain in good standing.

There is no problem remaining undeclared in CNR for your first two years; if you need help planning your program, make an appointment with the advisor for the major you are interested in, or visit the Office of Instruction and Student Affairs for advice.

Declared Students

If you are already declared, please see Changing Majors or Double Majoring/Simultaneous Degrees if that is what you are interested in.

Undeclared Students

You must declare a major in CNR after two years in the College. This page is relevant to undeclared students.

The process for declaring a particular major varies according to major.
