The Department of Nutritional Sciences and Toxicology, the University of California- Berkeley, seeks an Assistant or Associate Specialist (Fiscal Year) in Cooperative Extension, starting July 1, 2012. The salary range for this position is $61,700 - $97,100, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

The appointee should focus on research and public outreach to prevent obesity and associated diseases. We seek a candidate with ability to provide leadership to the Atkins Center for Weight and Health, and to serve as the University of California’s Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) Associate Director of Research/Nutrition, working with UC ANR’s Statewide Director for Youth, Families and Communities to coordinate statewide nutrition education and research activities. Requirements:

Applicants should have a bioscience Ph.D., M.D., or an equivalent degree, with training and experience in nutrition, such as experimental nutrition, dietetics, and/or public health nutrition.
