GPB Alumni go on to a wide variety of careers. Here is just a sample of what our alums are doing now.
Matt Winkler, Class of 1974
Biotechnology Company Founder
Winkler completed his doctorate in Zoology in 1979. After his postdoctoral studies, he took a faculty position at the University of Texas at Austin. In 1989 he started Ambion, Inc., and grew it to about 400 employees. In 2006, he sold the company and formed Asuragen which is focused on developing miRNA-based diagnostics and cancer therapeutics.

Laura Lagomarsino, Class of 2008
Graduate Student, Harvard University
Lagomarsino is currently at Harvard University attending graduate school in the Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology. She is studying the evolution of hummingbird pollination across flowering plants.
