NS-D Alumni go on to a wide variety of careers. Here is just a sample of what our alums are doing now.
Jessica Kim, Class of 2009
Case Assistant to the Dietitian at the Cholesterol Research Center (CHORI)
Kim currently is working closely with a research dietitian on studying the effects of different diets on cholesterol levels. She works on serveral different studies with varying diets and interact directly with participants who volunteer for the study. She is hoping to be in a dietetic internship this time next year to further her career.
Melanie (Bradford) Hall, Class of 2002
Manager, Network for a Healthy California
Since graduating, Hall completed her dietetic internship at Frances Stern Nutrition Center and received an MS in Nutrition Communications with an emphasis in Clinical Nutrition at Tufts University.
Hall returned to California in 2005 to work as a Health Educator managing contractors that promoted fruits and vegetables to low income African-Americans as part of the California 5 a Day African American Campaign. Shortly after getting married in 2006, she was given the opportunity to manage the California 5 a Day Retail Program, which promotes fruits and vegetables through food retailers in low-income communities.
Since the 2007 name-change from California 5 a Day to The Network for a Healthy California, Hall has continued managing the Retail Program along with other duties including staff training, produce industry partnership building, and leading a team of other RDs in developing nutrition standards and guidelines for the Network for a Healthy California.
