Hello,
I'm sorry it took me so long to be able to contact you and introduce myself. Between travels, connection issues, etc I know I am late. I'll do my best to catch-up.
I am Miguel Morales (Jose-Miguel Morales) and I work with the Monsanto Dairy Business as a Technical Services Veterinarian (Tech. Serv. Specialist is the name.) My job is to support several people from our sales team in the Central Valley in California. That involves help making sure our customers make the most of the technologies and products we sell. An important aspect of my job is to provided added value services. Here is where the Labor Management area comes to play.
Our customers started asking for help training their Hispanic Employees, and then help understanding some of the cultural differences, and organizing, and so on... little by little Labor Management became a topic of great interest to me. For years now, I have invested a significant part of my time on this aspect of mangement. Dairies have become more complex in size, use of technology and of course use of hired labor. I believe the future of Dairies depends in large, on how successful managers are with their team of people.
Well, enough of that. I'm excited to be part of this group and learn from all of you.
