ABOUT ME:

For as long as I can remember, I've been interested in understanding the behaviors of animals. Growing up in rural northern New York, I spent a great deal of time outdoors watching and collecting different wildlife. However, it wasn't until I took an intro to animal behavior course as an undergraduate that I developed a desire to conduct research in the field of behavioral ecology.

Since that time I've had the opportunity to work closely with many taxa, including: honey bees, zebra finches, bowerbirds, and black widow spiders. I'm currently a graduate student in Damian Elias' lab, at the University of California, Berkeley, studying communcation and sexual selection in the peacock spider, Maratus volans. Please check out my "Research" section to learn more about this exciting work. Outside of academics, I enjoy exploring the bay area and all the wonderful food, art and recreation it has to offer!
