We would love to meet you in person during Rausser College’s special events at Cal Day on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Our undergraduate advisors, current students, and faculty members will be available to answer your questions throughout the day.
Starting at 8:00AM in California Memorial Stadium, newly admitted students and families will be greeted by the Chancellor’s Morning Welcome and you will hear more about what to expect during Cal Day. The majority of Rausser College’s Cal Day events will take place on the Genetics and Plant Biology Lawn, located on the North-West side of campus. After the Chancellor’s Welcome and you have explored the Information Booths/Academic Hubs, please make your way to our side of campus for the New Student Reception.

10:30AM - 11:30AM: New Student Reception (Genetics and Plant Biology Lawn)
All newly admitted Rausser College of Natural Resources students and their families are invited to attend a special Cal Day reception where you will be greeted with the Dean's Welcome, have the chance to meet and interact with the college dean, other newly admitted students, current students, faculty, academic advisers, and staff. Light refreshments will be served.
11:15AM - 1:30PM: Explore Our Student Organizations (Genetics and Plant Biology Lawn)
Part of the Rausser College of Natural Resources “small-college” experience is getting to know fellow students with common academic interests. Rausser College is home to a number of student groups whose members are working on environmental, social, and health issues. 11:15AM - 1:30PM: Faculty Research Demonstration (Genetics and Plant Biology Lawn)
Professor Steve Lindow will demonstrate ice nucleation, a phenomenon where bacteria causes ice crystals to quickly form on plants while Dr. Vernard Lewis ("The Bug Doctor") will showcase native California insects and show you where you can find amazing bugs right on campus while you engage with members of Berkeley's Entomology Club.
11:30AM - 12:15PM: Walking Tour of the Rausser College of Natural Resources (North steps of Mulford Hall)
Join an exclusive walking tour of the Rausser College of Natural Resources led by our Peer Advisors, who will highlight the student experience in our college. The Rausser College of Natural Resources is surrounded by historical buildings on the beautiful northwest side of campus.
Special Note: This tour by our Peer Advisors is also being offered the day before Cal Day - Friday, April 22 from 3-3:45PM (also starting at the North steps of Mulford Hall)
12:00PM - 1:30PM: Enjoy a Free Snow Cone (Genetics and Plant Biology Lawn)
Enjoy a free snow cone while you watch the ice nucleation magic show.
1:30PM - 2:30PM: Guided Tour of the Campus Tree Trail (North steps of Mulford Hall)
Learn more about UC Berkeley's natural landscape with a tour of campus trees! The tour is led by forestry students.
