Research Interests: Management models for natural resource and environmental and human health to promote sustainable development; Criteria for evaluation of
community-based adaptive ecosocial system management based on sustainability and resilience; Bio-economic modeling and analysis of the
evolving eco-social systems; Conservation of endangered species. Mathematical models of single population dynamics, simple trophic web, and spatially structured populations. Models of poikilotherm structured population; Physiological-based population model for the analysis of multi-trophic system; Parameter estimation for ecological models using field data, stochastic microscopic models and time series analysis; Metapopulation models. Mathematical models of the analysis of eco-epidemiological systems. Mathematical tool for the prevention and control of arthropod-transmitted diseases in livestock (tick-borne diseases, tsetse-trypanosomiasis) and humans (malaria, sleeping sickness). Field methods for integrated pest management: Optimal sampling scheme; Predator-prey and host-parasitoid population system regulation mechanisms in with particular reference to biological control; Functional response in predator-prey system; Agro-ecosystem analysis and design of ecosystem management schemes; Optimal use of ecosystem services and ecological infrastructures.
