From Northbound Highway 101 (Daly City)

• Exit to San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge
• Exit to I-80 East (Berkeley/Sacramento)
• Exit University Avenue. Veer to your right, heading East, towards the Berkeley Hills
• Continue East on University Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles to Oxford Street.

From Westbound 24 (Contra Costa County)

• Take 24 through the Caldecott Tunnel to Highway 13 Berkeley exit
• Continue on 13; Hwy 13 becomes Ashby Avenue near the Claremont Hotel
• Turn right at Shattuck Avenue
• Turn right at University Avenue and continue east one block to Oxford Street

From Westbound from Highway 13

• Highway 13 becomes Tunnel Road
• Continue on Tunnel Road. Tunnel Road becomes Ashby Avenue near that Claremont Hotel
• Turn right at Shattuck Avenue
• Turn right at University Avenue and continue east one block to Oxford Street

From I-80 East or West (San Francisco, Sacramento, Richmond, Vallejo)

• Exit University Avenue
• Continue east on University Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles to Oxford Street.

From Westbound I-580

• Exit I-80 East (Berkeley/Sacramento)
• Exit at University Avenue
• Continue East on University Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles to Oxford Street

From North I-880 (San Jose, Hayward, Oakland Airport)

• Exit to 980
• Exit 580 West (to San Francisco)
• Exit 80 East (to Berkeley)
• Exit at University Avenue
• Continue East on University Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles to Oxford Street

BART transportation

• Get off at the Berkeley stop
• Walk west on Center Street to the West Gate entrance of U.C. Berkeley

Center Street Garage
Public parking provided by the City of Berkeley is located at 2025 Center Street between Shattuck and Milvia Street.
Cost: $.75 - $2 per hour.

Student Union Garage
A campus garage for visitors is located on Bancroft Avenue just below the intersection of Telegraph Avenue. The garage charges by the hour and it is best to arrive by 9 a.m. to insure a place. Enter the garage by the driveway on the right hand side as you go down Bancroft Way towards Oxford Avenue. The garage is located directly below the ASUC Student Center.
Cost: $1.50 per hour.
It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the ASUC to Cory or Soda Hall. See the campus map for directions.

Metered Parking
One- and two-hour meters are located on city streets around campus. Usually these are difficult to find, and do not allow you enough time for your campus visit. Meters take quarters and nickels only.

Parking for the Disabled
There is disabled parking behind Cory Hall, near Bechtel Engineering Center, and in the Virus Lot (in front of Stanley Hall). Please be aware that the spaces near Bechtel Engineering Center are reserved for specific persons and cannot be used during certain hours.

Heading east on University Avenue from interstate 80 will take you to the West entrance to the U.C. Berkeley campus. Turn left at the visitors' kiosk to the circle with a eucalyptus tree in the center. The Valley Life Sciences Building is approximately 200 yards away from the circle and can be reached by walking on the sidewalk that heads off the circle to the south-east.
