Freeman Farm. A typical farm consisted of 70 acres and included farmhouse, barn, orchard, fields, and woodlands connected to the Center Village by country roads. |
Farm and Garden. Farm families planted crops and raised livestock for food, often with a surplus for trade. |
Cutover land. Farmers cleared forests for fields and pasture, often with axes that left tall stumps. |
Cooper. Some farmers were part-time coopers who made barrels and pails from wood staves. |
