Growing Roots projects started in 2015 as part of a Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Grant that was designed to provide training and facilitate resource sharing and networking among small-scale farmers, ranchers and farm educators associated with various farmer learning hubs across the Bay Area and beyond. The teams behind the Growing Roots projects have shifted over the years but always hold researchers, educators, farmers, service providers, policy experts, and community connectors.
