About Matias Lab

Welcome to the Matias Lab!

As a Cooperative Extension academic, my work includes research and extension. Our work centers on promoting health through nutrition and preventing nutrition related chronic diseases, with a focus on underserved, marginalized and vulnerable populations. We use epidemiological methods and biostatistics to study biological and behavioral exposures and/or outcomes related to food environments, dietary practices and health. Our lab uses the framework of social determinants of health, with a vision to increase health equity.
